The SBC Outreach Music and Arts Academy is a non-profit, community based institution dedicated to providing students of all ages with high-quality, affordable instruction in music and performing arts. We also offer a meal in between lessons and winter clothing (coats, hats, gloves, boots, etc.). With these programs, the Academy seeks to transform lives by providing the tools necessary to promote self-confidence and discipline needed to succeed in life, as well as the life-long joy of making music!

The SBC Outreach Music Academy was launched in January 2007. We began providing private and group lessons to over 30 students that February. The response has been positive and enrollment has consistently grown. Our instructors at the Music Academy are accomplished professional performers and educators, as well as talented and enthusiastic student teachers from Black Hawk College and other schools. Registration is ongoing throughout the year. The fees are reasonable and are adjusted to accommodate the needs of multi-student families. Lessons are currently available on Saturdays at Second Baptist Church, but we would like to offer several more days in the future.
